Not clear from the source

  • The Manor (Holsworthy) car park page says the motorhome overnight stay covers 6pm to 10am, while the council's overview page says 6pm to 8am for all sites. Wader can't tell which is current – check the board in the car park.
  • Wader didn't find a separate page for Riverbank (Long Stay), Bideford, so its RingGo code isn't listed here.
  • None of the pages mention water or waste facilities for motorhomes.

The five car parks

£12 per night, per bay

  • Riverbank (Long Stay) car park, Bideford – EX39 2QS
  • The Main car park, Westward Ho! – EX39 1LG
  • The Manor car park, Holsworthy – EX22 6DJ
  • Sydney House (South Street) car park, Great Torrington – EX38 8AA

£15 per night, per bay

  • Churchfields car park, Appledore – EX39 1RL

The key phrase is per bay: if your motorhome takes up two bays you pay twice (the council says motorhomes occupying two bays need to buy two pay and display tickets).

Time and length of stay

The overview page says overnight parking is allowed for any period between 6pm and 8am, and the maximum stay is 2 nights in any location. The individual car park pages repeat "a maximum of 2 consecutive nights only".

One wrinkle: The Manor in Holsworthy lists its motorhome overnight stay as 6pm to 10am. We've flagged this above rather than guess.

What you can't do

The usual car park rules still apply overnight, and the council's dos and don'ts are short:

  • No barbecues or open fires
  • No awnings or extensions
  • No tables and chairs outside the vehicle

Read the terms and conditions board next to the pay and display machines in whichever car park you choose.

Handy details from the car park pages

  • Westward Ho! Main – about 131 spaces; coaches no longer permitted.
  • Sydney House, Great Torrington – about 280 spaces, town centre.
  • The Manor, Holsworthy – about 166 spaces, just off the town centre.
  • Churchfields, Appledore – about 263 spaces on the edge of the Taw/Torridge estuary, with a slipway; car-and-trailer combinations are £6 per space per day.

All four list cash, card and RingGo, plus EV charging.
