Why Wader?
Because finding a simple rule – can I sleep in my motorhome in this car park?, will the tip let my hire van in?, do I need to book my bike on this train? – often means wading through council PDFs, half-updated web pages and forum threads. Wader does the wading so you don't have to.
How we source every page
- Official sources only. Every rule page is based on the official page of the council, government agency or train operator that sets the rule. Forums, blogs and apps can be useful for finding leads, but we don't use them as the source of a fact.
- We only say what the source says. If the source is silent, vague or contradicts itself, we say so in a yellow "Not clear from the source" box rather than filling the gap with a guess.
- Every page shows its sources. You'll find the official links at the bottom of each page, so you can check them yourself.
- Every page shows a "last checked" date. That's the date we last read the official source. Rules change – sometimes without warning – so the source and the signs on site always win over Wader.
- Re-checking. We aim to re-check every page at least every 90 days, and sooner for pilots and trials with an end date.
What Wader isn't
Wader isn't legal advice and isn't affiliated with any council or train company. If a sign in a car park or a member of staff tells you something different, follow them – and please tell us so we can fix the page.
Affiliate links
In future, some pages may include affiliate links – for example to motorhome hire (Goboony, Camplify) or kit on Amazon UK. Right now there are none. The boxes you see marked "Placeholder – affiliate slot" are empty reservations for where those links might go. If we add real affiliate links, we'll label them clearly, and they'll never change what a page says about the rules.
